Research Assessment

Purpose:

The purpose of a research plan is to demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of how to develop a rationale about how to develop a research plan for a specified population group.

In this assessment you are required to develop a rationale for a proposed Research Assessment study amongst a vulnerable group.

Caution: you are NOT required to develop a complete research proposal.

Question:  How would you explore mental health and wellbeing in a vulnerable population?

Process:

There are two aspects to be critically interrogated in this assessment.

  • The first is a detailed rationale of your proposed research study appropriate to the selected group. You will need to draw on concepts covered in weeks 2, 3 and 4 to support your selection of a methodology that would be appropriate for the selected group.
  • The second involves critically examining the ethical principles, social justice and legal implications Research Assessment in using this methodology with the selected population group.
